Trying to email a member? need help.
« on: September 13, 2011, 01:34:22 pm »

Hi all tried to send email/message to another member who is building same model as myself and been faced with that box thing that comes up? when I complete the message etc it keeps saying recipient no know or whatever, I have not got a clue what this box is or does, I only ever send emails direct, I use AOL. I have avoided other web sites with this box arrangement for messages so any advice would be good. Many thanks JBD {:-{

Not quite sure what you mean here. I assume you are looking at a post from this member. If so there are two icons at the right under the name etc. If you click the envelope it will open a message form for your email client. If you use AOL via a web interface you probably dont have this. If you click the other icon which says IM, then a message form will come up with the recipient already completed. Fill in a subject and the write your message and press send. Simples as the furry crature says :-)) :-))

Hope this helps.

Thanks Barrie for reply but it still does not work for me? What I get is a large window opening with the other persons name on it, I then complete the message and when I click send it comes up saying no details of this person etc etc, Will this type of contacting be same for everyone on this forum as I can not use it, Why does it not work by normal email? I think the method here is called windows email? any advise please? Thanks James

Many thanks for help, his address is ***********mine is ************ it is regarding his request on the Lossiemouth registered trawler  INS 123 named Sheila, I have been working on this model for couple years and also researched it? I would be grateful if you could send this message to exchange info and see model etc, again many thanks for help. James

It is never a good idea to put your email address on an open forum.
