Hi,
I always weigh my gas cylinder on digital scales, do a burn for exactly 5 or 10 minutes , then weigh the cylinder again; it is then easy to calculate the consumption per minute.
When I run the boat on the pond, I note the before and after cylinder weight and divide the difference by the time of the run. I'm using about 4 grams/minute.
The actual consumption depends on the state of the cylinder and its temperature and pressure so, to be consistant, the start weight and temperature should be about the same for each test.
The best that I've found out about jet sizing is that it is to do with the old petrol carboretor. A container would be filled with a liquid to a given level and then allowed to drain through the jet. The time taken for the level to drop would be noted and the jet assigned the size number.
