Hello from Manchester
« on: October 04, 2011, 01:10:22 pm »

Hello all!

I am Daniel from manchester. I have been into model engineering for a number of years and own and run my steam engines. On a recent browse in WH Smiths, there was little of interest in my usual model engineering magazines so decided to look elsewhere and purchased Model Boats. This particular magazine (un-be-known to me at the time) had a detailed plan and instructions on building a 1:32 scale fire boat.
My plan is to build this boat and ask questions on here as I go along.

Speak soon.

Daniel

Hi Daniel

Welcome to ModelBoat Mayhem.  :-))  I saw that plan as well so would be interested in your build of the Fire boat.

You are welcome to put up pictures (we love pictures) as you go along and don't forget 'there's no such thing as a silly question'   :}

Cheers

Hi Danny

Welcome .................. (even though I'm a Scouser - oh and definitely red, not blue)

I haven't been modelling long but I can tell you that the guys here are great and are really helpful.
Post up your build and take part in conversations and you really can't go wrong :-))

Hello all,

No body has scared me off!!!!
I didn't even realise this thread was getting so much attention as I hadn't received any emails because other forums I'm on email me to let me know if someone has replied to my posts.  It's only when someone pm'd me when I realised.

Imwould love to say I have started my fire boat but I unfortunately haven't. I've had a lot of external commitments on and other projects which I decided needed to be finished first before venturing onto another one. Te cards are still n the table to start my fire boat in the new year but I will need to finish other things first.

I have still been on the forum but in other areas following people's posts etc but ie just not looked back to this one.

I'm till here but nothing started as yet.
Kind regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel

You can set this forum up for emails - with my memory it's the only way I can follow any thread.

Just pop a mention on here when you are ready and we will get to know - good luck.
