I wonder whatever happened to my old boat....
« on: October 17, 2011, 05:51:10 pm »

Have you sold a boat and ever seen it turn up anywhere again?

One I sold turned up on a stand at Ally Pally years ago...
..... but I wonder what ever happened to my old Matchbox/Revell Corvette 'Lightship'?

How about any of your boats?

I always wondered what happened to my old SLEC/Engel Patrick Henry...I sold it to chap who lost it after only a couple of days. It was found, apparently, by a Police Dive Team, but what happened to it after that ....I haven't a clue.

I often wonder what happened to my Hegi Saudade America's Cup Yacht. I put a lot of time and effort into that build, and really enjoyed sailing it. Years ago I did a deal with a small model shop in Tewkesbury and swapped it for a 4 channel 35mhz radio set for a glider I had built. Never did get the hang of flying it!! <:( I have recently acquired a Robbe Sirius, nice to sail, but no real building to do. So for a winter project I will be building a Sparrow yacht from plans, and looking forward to it.

Used to be a lifeboat very much like that 1 moored on the river Avon just down from where we kept our boat. The owner didn't look after it very well, it spent most of it's time sitting on the river bed, until it was sold on and moved down to Bristol docks and removed from the water to undergo a complete rebuild! Never did see what happened to it in the end.

that one sounds very much like the Edmund and Mary Robinson, a 41' watson, based in the reserve fleet for some years....painted blue on top she was owned by an old chap who's infirmity got the better of him and his boat and he sold it about 2 years ago for a pittance.

neil.
