Dumas made  a number of swamp boat (air boat) kits including the above which measures 31" x 17" approx. and were designed for i.c. engines. Has anyone had experience of running one of these on brushless? I am looking for advice on the type of brushless set up that would make it 'fly' without being too unmanageable. Also, does anyone have the plans for this particular model as I need to rebuild part of the one I recently acquire of a certain internet auction site. They should look like the photos

Try a search for Dumas Big Swamp in the forum, there was a lot of info but I didn't find plans and I guess they don't sell them separately.
There was a little bit of info on converting it to electric or find a setup from a boat the same size.

Many thanks for the info. I will follow up and check out what there is in RC forums. These swamp boats appear to be more popular in the USA than here. I bought it as my local waters has a weed problem from time to time such that it fowls up submersed props. I have a number of hovercraft, hence the username, but thought that the swamp boat would be a new challenge.

I built an own design air boat using the simplest brushless motor and controller I could get off an aircraft site.Tthe boat is about 18" long by 9" beam with a 7.2v Nicad and goes like a scalded cat.
