Hi everyone,
Had a really fabulous day at St.Ive Lifeboat Station with my models, which had a lot of interest.Met a lot of old friends, and the very generous public donated £219.50 to the RNLI.
Thanks to all,who made it such a good day

Awesome job Mick.  Well done.
That lifeboat house looks very familiar, although the full size boat is very different to the Liverpool Class one my Uncle served on at St Ives.  Thanks for sharing the pictures.

thanks Neil, and thanks Bob.Bob,you will note the first model in line is the Liverpool! You do realise this is the "new" lifeboat house, just across the road from the old one, which is now a restaurant. No more does the Lifeboat go trundling along the harbour front,as of old, when the whole town seemed to turn out when the maroons went off.Now it travels a few yards out of the shed and down the "new" purpose built slipway.agh, those were happy days!

A restaurant ?  Sacrilege !  What looked familiar was the set of steps going up, across and down.  I was around Eight or Ten at the time.  No more towing the boat through the town behind a tractor, with everyone turning out to watch.

Martin, suggest you ring Poole and ask for "outside events" other than that, I get mine from my local Sation (Falmouth). Most stations are very helpful, but even they have problems getting their supplies sometimes. Some of mine comes from Ireland would you believe!
