Perkasa model

Have picked up a part built wooden 48 inch model - the original owner has passed away- so cannot discuss how and why progress to date -  Help/suggestions please

Why might this  ''kit''  now contain a tin of Stevens Polyester laminating  resin, a tube of Dibenzoyl peroxide paste hardner and some matting

- Would this be used to cover and waterproof the hull? - some has been used at the bow to get the required profile.

Most of the resin  tin has spilt into the hull and I am removing the larger 'pools'    - is this spill  a problem

More q to follow

No problem should occur removing the resin, just be careful if levering it out that the hull is not strained. If your hull is decent strength ply then id think skinning with Fiberglass would not be required.Just a coating of decent paint. It appears the materials youve inherited were to carry out the repair youve mentioned. I like you have a 42 long Percassa. They in my opinion need quite a bit of power to get them fully on plane. Previous threads will help you decide what you require.Good luck with your build. John.
