Hi all, we were at the lake today too carry out some of the preparation for tomorrow. Having done a clean up I can now say that the lake is weed free, so there will be no boats getting snagged up tomorrow. We have also placed some buoys in so we only have the lighthouse and landing stages to put in first thing tomorrow. The New Brighton Life Boat will be on show at the side of the lake from about 10am onwards. At 2pm tomorrow we will be doing the sponsored tow around the lake, this will be a dinghy with two members of the lifeboat crew on board being towed by a model tug with another tug on the stern; we will go for 3-4 laps of the lake. So all in all we should all have an enjoyable day.
So to all those who are travelling from far field please take care and have a safe journey.   :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Very Best Regards Dave.

Nice to see so many turn out, despite the damp weather this morning. Hope it was a good success, looks like it should have been!
Well done all.

I arrived very late and missed meeting Nick and Neil, just caught the tail end of everything really.
On the other hand I met Stavros Larry & Mersey Dave (again) it's so nice to put faces to you lads.
It looked like all had had good fun courtesy of the Wallasey lads :-))

Regards Dave
........ is the Victoria Park Widnes Steam thing on again this year? I think Runcorn attend that one.

Victoria Park Vintage Steam Rally is on the 29th & 30th September, and Runcorn is booked in.

Yes a great day despite a couple of showers , as Dave says nice to put names to faces And I won a raffle prize  :}. A Anfield Stadium Tour so thanks to the Wallasey group for hosting this event

And we also nearly had an impromptu lifeboat launch but Luckily they were stood down as not required in the end.

As regards Stavro's Boat, well want can I say , It was Big, It was Yellow and it could give a club 500 a run for its money.
Plenty of other very nice boats with lights, sounds and other Bits  %% , and of course a nice display of lifeboats.. :-))

And yes Ken found a shirt !!

Well what a wonderful day Met up with some old friends far to many to name and made some new ones as well.Congratuations must be made to the Lads and lasses who put this event on and LONG may it continue.

Biggest Honour for me was to sail Neil's RNLB Filed Marshal annd mr Smutts and also his Rnlb Mary stanford WOW what an Honour BUT Alas I must CONFESS a LITTLE whoopsy.Wel it went like this.....Neil mmmm I dont like to say this but Mary Stanford has well stopped...........Cause Falt Batt PHEW....the man himself then handed me Field Marshal    well that didnt go excatly to plan either ............Neil ,,,,,,,,It has stopped.........Cause seized shaft.....Phew again...............Thought I had better put my side of the story in FIRST  :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:................... :-))

Another shock to everyone's system was The Longbuild's little SHG tug towing My Happy Hunter round the lake YES it really did tow it all 110lbs of it and the motor didnt even get hot

Next year would I go again ................COUNT ME IN DEFO
