A close friend Martin Ward, died on Thursday this week, most unexpectedly at the ridiculously low age of only 47.

One of the strengths behind the foundation of Clevedon & District Model Boat Club in 2005, as well as a Committee Member of Woodspring Model Boat Club, Martin will be sadly missed by all who knew him at the two clubs.

Often vociferous about his passion, Martin was always willing to lend a helping hand to anybody whether he knew them personally or not, the world will be a sadder place without him.

As well as sailing and building boats, Martin had a great passion for photography, and took thousands of pictures of model boats, as well as photos of his other passion, of Off-Road Landrover Trials.

Many people knew Martin throughout the South West boating fraternity I am sure that like myself they will be deeply saddened by this very sad and unexpected sad news.

R.I.P Martin you will be missed.
