Tony52, that is an excellent idea!

Of course I should contact Marine Modeling Int. Specially since they have published an article about my steam turbine powered Turbinia a few years ago! I will mail Mr Barrie Stevens immediately.

I also found that film a while ago. It is great documentation and also shows the details of the deck rather good.

Fingers crossed everyone :-)

This is the advertisment for Miss E D 2 from a 1952 magazine. Note the high cost of the radio equipment.

Good luck with this project

Dear Friends

The project is slowly getting on. I have got the water jets from Graupner and plan to start the static tests with these and the Honda engines in the near future. Also, I have got some help from you readers with the plans for the Wavemaster. That hull shure looks about the same so if I can not find the "real" plans I will use a modifies Wavemaster but at a larger scale and with a correct superstructure.

I got some very good help from guys at the Model Engineering and Model IC Engine Projects website (http://modelenginenews.org/). They are active asking for more info on their web site so only time can tell.

Any one iof you have found some three views or something???

Have you got the large rescue sprinted built for back up?

Hello all

I will start to make the tests with the Honda GX-35 and if that is not enough, I will try try the GX-50 but with a speed up gearbox. The follow boat does not seem to be much of a problem. A friend of mine has a nice Chris Craft that is as built for the purpose. It is made for ocean trips so it is a very good ship for the trip. We should sort out the fuel cost though!

Anyone found more Miss Edee-2 info?

Although the front cabin has been stretched, Vic Smeeds 1953 "Lorelei" looks far closer than the Wavemaster.

In 1952 Miss Eedee made the crossing including passing through a fog bank  from Dover to Calais in nine and half hours using only a single ED 5cc diesel The R/C I believe was an early  ED reed unit, notoriously temperamental.
Bowwave

Hard to imagine but my wife swam that in 11hrs 33 minutes, and I believe that the fastest time is not much over 7 hours so it would be interesting to see what time a current attempt would do.

I just got a package from Graupner with two sets of their biggest waterjets since I plan to use that on the boat.
Any more suggestions?
Tomas
Hi Tomas,

I assume you got the Jet 5 from Graupner?
http://www.graupner.de/en/products/1be70983-07b5-4873-80ae-f2ebea0d8f72/2347/product.aspx

If you want more info on what propulsion to use on jets, contact Kehrer in Berlin, they have similar big jets and experience with them:

After a LOT of research and photo studying, the drawings for the replica Miss ED are now finnished. The boat will be powered by two Honda 4-stroke industrial engines. I will start making tests with these engines together with the water jets as soon as the ice goes away (!!)

I bought the first of the two engines today! The Hondas are not cheap but i got the price down by 35% at the local store. And of course, pictures will follow. :-)
