Seller must be telling fibs then, he seems to think he makes them in batches of 10?

  Sandy's company was ACS.

Hi Peter,
Do you have a link to where his plans are? I have found some for the boilers but not the engines. What has happened to Sandy I have not been able to contact him.
Regards,
Gerald.

Hven't seen it for real, but it looks nicely made, judging from the pictures. It is a copy of the Cheddar Puffin. Same bore, stroke and overall appearance. Differences are in the way the cylinders are made (soldered from 2 pieces rather than single-piece as in the Puffin) and the method of pressing the cylinders against the standard (rubber orings vs. outside bracket with springs).

He has now listed another    http://www.ebay.com/itm/220894515907?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 with a Buy it Now of 275Pounds. How does that price compare with other engines on the market such as Graupners? Ian.

I tend to agree with kno3 ......these examples are not from Sandy Campbell from ACS Enginering

In Y2005, the French manufacturer ANTON used the o-ring method of pulling/pressing the cylinders against the standard......

Sandy used a spring format  :-)) ....... Derek

frazer......all of the manufacturing detail & dimensions are included in the free down load

You could print them out & rescale accordingly with a computerized photocopier  :o ...you know x 0.71 = 1/2 size result & x by 1.41 = double the output  :-))

Hi Derek/Gerald,Iv already redrawn the french design to 3/8 bore 1/2 stroke and built it to go into B Harley's Victoria using his original boiler design.I simply used Basil's cylinder lay out and built the frame as per the French gentlemans design it still needs running on air but i have been side tracked building some Bowman toy boats and hot air engines I have restarted Victoria but its slow progress as I'm easily side tracked ended up building a little single oscillator last week end {-) you know how it is.
I just liked the look of the engine just to build for fun

Gday all,I bought one of these engines on e bay,it arrived today very well packed,it's a very well made model engine much the same as the graupner or the aussie built clyde oscillator but costs much less,it's made in spain by mr.Paul Draper who is soon to put up a web site,he is also working on a single and a 3 cylinder which he hopes to have available in the new year. This one is going into a 45inch steam drifter with a three and a half inch maccsteam boiler,no pictures yet as the build has only just started.

Cheers Col    and merry xmas every one!

I've positioned your letter outside of the quotes.

Hi Gerald,They were just back of envelope sketches .The drawings for Victoria's engine are on the johntom site I just used this design but made the frame  to take ball bearings as per the French gentlemans design so the ports are also Victoria's I also increased the length of the cylinders to allow for bolted on cylinder covers the bottom covers are o ring sealed but the glands had to be 45 degrees across the cylinders as they are smaller and there was a problem to place them as per the French design.
I can post some pics if that will help and supply you with any measurements you may need?
Sorry if this is not very clear I have difficulty explaining its one of the reasons I don't post my builds.I still have to run the engine to prove it.
best wishes Frazer

Good to hear that Sinxalot is happy with the engine he got. I successfully bid on the third one he had on offer and fortunately it was at an even better price than the earlier ones went for. Just waiting for it to turn up but I expect the Christmas mail might slow things down. Hopefully our Customs Dept will be too busy to bother slapping out Goods and services tax on my little parcel. Will post a report when I have it running. Cheers, Ian.

Engine arrived today and looks really good. All exterior machining is very well finished off and the engine turns over very smoothly. Tried it on air and it only needed a few pounds pressure to get it started turning over so it has obviously been run in. So far very pleased with my purchase. Cheers, Ian.

I bought one a little while ago. It's a very nice engine, but I would go over it, as I found it needed a few little tweaks and spots of loctite.

I have mine installed in my Seguine tug (that was going to have the TVR1A in it). That install got delayed by summer and also the fact that the actuation arm is not at 90 degrees to the engine, so needs a little ingenuity to get the servo installed (not much spare room in the Seguine).
