Falklands 30th
« on: December 26, 2011, 11:59:38 am »

Ok this event long pondered has finally got a venue.

I have consulted with my club sec. There will be a Falklands 30th show this summer earmarked for the first Sunday in September with open sailing on the Saturday afternoon. We will run it alongside our annual regatta.

The location will be Black Park country park which is our home water so Everyone is welcome and the venue is guaranteed.  Anyone attending must have the normal insurance.

More to follow but anyone wanting to help organise please PM me.

Following the Black Park Model Boat Club AGM last night, I am pleased to confirm that there will be a Falklands 30th element to our regatta on Sunday 2nd of September. The club who traditionally use the event as a charity fundraiser have also agreed that our chosen charity for this event will be Help for Heroes.

Some of out members both served in the Falklands and were part of the Falklands Naval Display Team in the 80s and it is hoped that we will be able to put on both a good static exhibit and a sailing event with a good representation of ships from the period.

The regatta is an open event with invited clubs, however, we always welcome visitors on the day, with or without boats, and I would love to hear from anyone interested in participating. 8)

Wonderful idea to commemorate this event at Black Park, and in aid of Help For Heroes.  I have sent a PM offering any help I can give.
