Which boat to build
« on: January 04, 2012, 06:38:38 pm »

Following my disaster in buying the Magga Dan on ebay I am now considering building a kit from start..

Based on looking throughlists of tugs and fishing vessels. I am thinking of Model Slipways Maggie M or the Al Khubar or similar.

I know there has been a build blog of Al Khubar on another forum but I have not seen anything about Maggie M.

Can anybody advise where I may locate some information or advise on the two options

Thanks

Hi Dicky, do what I did, both of them.

Al Khubar

Maggie M revamped since I did it, but was good anyway.

Thanks for the advise but as I'm unemployed/retired I will have trouble in buying one.

Why did you ask about them then ?

You never mentioned price just that you wanted information on the builds, which I have given you.

DickyD

What I meant was that I can afford to buy one but not both

I was looking for some advice on which one members considered was the one they would recommend as they are similarly priced

Thank you for your information and sorry for the confusion

Sorry Dicky, misunderstood your post.

They are both great kits with the Al Khubar being slightly easier to do. It also has a lot more room in it for batteries, motors etc.

Hope this helps.

Based on the fact I used to live there, I'd have to build the Al Khubar, (the name is usually spelt Al Khobar in English though, but it depends on the translator {:-{)
