After a couple of weeks of work, more than a few sheets of styrene, several tubes of epoxy and an awful lot of swearing, my Coastguard vessel has gone from this : Bought from Russel (6705 Russel) and arrived badly damaged (thanks, Post Office Parcels...)








To this : fitted out with an ACTion 550 low drain motor, Mtroniks Viper esc, two 6volt 3600a/h battery packs and my Robbe F-14 tx with a Corona rx. Just wants a final application of paint here and there and the battery leads from Dave (Welsh Wizard) and we're ready for her maiden voyage.

That's a very nice looking boat now Rich!
I take it that it was well packed up? With all that damage I trust you will be fully compensated by the Post Office, or at least the sender will. I don't think it's the recipient who has to make the claim, I believe it's the sender, best of luck anyway and I hope you are now happy with the result even though you've had to spend your dosh and time with the repairs.

no good trying to get compo out of the Parcel Farce I sued them some years ago for absolutely wrecking a marie Felling model I bought from a chap in soton.he'd packed it well, even steel corners on a wooden packing case........red writing all over saying "this way up", "ship model", you name it, he did it.......parcel farce dropped it on it's end and it's top and delivered it upside down.......couldn't believe it.

In court, the judge summed up and said......" CASE DISMISSED.......WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WHEN YOU SEND A LOVELY THING LIKE THAT WITH A THIRD RATE CARRIER YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD MORE SENSE."

Sorry Rich, but that is the thoughts of even a judge.

I know what you mean Neil...remember that trawler I bought from Andy Bailey?

I still have the photos...large wooden crate screwed together, trawler very well packed inside, crate marked "FRAGILE", "THIS WAY UP", etc etc...it arrived with a big hole in the crate, and when I opened the door the postie was standing there with the box on it's end!

AB claimed from the PO....the offer was for £30 compensation! A bl**dy insult, the crate was worth more than that...

We got nowhere with the claim, so it was a case of "take the thirty quid or take nothing...." makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Well surely it was insured? How can Parcel Farce get away with damaging goods and then not having to fork out for the damage?

Tell you what Nige, the PO know more back doors than your average burglar...insuring a parcel is practically a waste of time  and money. They are experts at wriggling out of paying insurance claims...

because they don't count on people taking them to court, and when you do, you get a thick git who lives on another planet to the rest of us....a circuit judge who has absolutely no idea what goes on in the real world........they are as big a t o s s e r as parcel farce are.

I suppose it's because for years they had that glorious name of ROYAL MAIL,  and anything that carries the name with Royal in it is vertually a no go as far as fighting against them in a law court is concerned.

Very true Neil, they don't give a flying (one of them) about their customers, they are the post office and that's an end to the matter.

Whatever the customer does or says is of no importance to them...it must reflect badly on the poor old postie.

And I thought the council were a load of -------------- (fill in with whatever word you wish)
