I'm currently building a pushboat, I used 1/2 inch ply in the sides, transom and bow and 1/4 ply for the bottom and it feels pretty solid at this stage. the hull length is 68 cm and width is 31 cm.
I'm currently at the stage where I'm doing some final sanding of the filler and the wood and wanted to seal everything. This has been discussed here before and I did a few searches with many results since it seems that sealing goes down to preference and type and materials used on the hull.
Do I need to use fiberglass cloth and resin (I have 1.5 oz) how many coats should I apply after the first coat with the cloth?. Or can I omit this stage and use something like sanding sealer since this is a strong model in the first place? and how many coats should I apply?
Thanks,
Hany
