Robbe Navy Geared Motor EF76 and Robbe Mount
« on: March 09, 2012, 01:34:50 pm »

Hi Folks,

I need some advice please on how to correctly attach the Robbe Mount to a Robbe EF76. I'm guessing that you bond the plate to the gearbox outer casing. Is this correct?? If so, do I need to make an additional support for the motor, or will it be OK this way? New to boat building and these are some of the points that are catching me out. I've already started building the Artesania 'Hellen' and the first challenge was to find the right glue for ABS / wood - I've found Plastic Fusion acrylic to be very good.

Many thanks and I do hope to post on mu First boat build experience.

Colin.

Personally I would knock up a bit of ply scrap ply under the back of the motor, just for a bit of extra support

As to the gearbox mount at the front... i would think the coupling would hold it in place.
I wouldn't want to glue it in place permanently 'just in case'
