flower arranging foam

i have used flower arranging foam to shape the hulls on my catemaran model, what would be the best filler to cover it over and smooth? its only a static model and will never be in the water

it's also great for sticking your fittings into that have a locating pin on them..when you want to paint them. :-))

On a scale of 1 -Good to 10 - Abysmal, in constructional materials Manx Venture, you've picked 27 in using "Oasis". Even looking at it for too long causes dents in it and in not too long it deteriorates into dust. Not what you want to hear, but while you've still time, replace it with at least white expanded or better/best extruded foam.

I'd experiment on a smapre lump with some fibreglass resin. If the foam doesn't melt when you apply the fibre sheet, then you could cover the Oasis nicely. If it does, well then you need a barrier filler, possibly Polyfiller and then fibreglass for a smooth top finish.

If its not going to get wet then Pollyfilla will do.
