Right, Das Boot has just finish.... pictures!

A good show today, lots of happy modellers, lots of good going out of the doors, lots of good models to see, great to meet up with old friends and Mayhemers.

A GOOD balance of Clubs and Traders, not too squashed in and relatively cheap to get in. Well done Marc ( A MODEL WORLD) great first show!

I was there Saturday and would like to add that it was a great show, very well attended, there was a long queue before the doors opened!

A good turn out by both traders and clubs with some really superb and interesting models on show.

It was good to meet other mayhemmers again, including the gaffer - Martin.

Well done to the organiser and roll on the next one.

The St Margaret (Maggie),
Dodes on this forum was a mate on her in the 70's and is his favourite ship.
I was an Engineer on RMAS Typhoon which towed her back from Funchal Madeira to Plymouth after her boiler had problems.
Great to see such a fine model of her.

NB. This 'Blast defuser' is machined by hand. ALL the holes were drilled one at a time on a milling machine / pillar drill !

The builder, Richard was a real nice guy too and very humble about his efforts.... although I did question the sanity of the man when he said that building he masts were the hardest but most enjoyable part of the build.... on 2nd thoughts, that does make perfect sense.

Everything!  Wood, sheet plastic, loads of K&S metalwork, various household objects, pens, bottle tops, all sorts of containers and other various household objects, as he says, the only commercial product was the helicopter kit! wow!

Richard had a load of build pictures, I hope he sees this and posts some.......  :-))

Went to the show so saturday. Thought it was a very nice small show. Saw some very nice boats and spoke to some nice people. The little pool out side was nice and me and my friend had ag ood sail on there.
One point for the show organisers to think about. £3.95 entrance fee, round it up to £4 as this makes it much easier for the cashier to work out the amount to be charged and quicker to give out change resuliting in a quicker que.

I think I have now fully recovered from this New show that Marc has put on.
The pool went up on Friday and then the mammoth task of all the traders and club stand table were laid by Marc and Myself...Hard work most defo 150 tables lol.
Kelly was soon hijacked on Sta am to give Lindsey a hand on the door....in at the deep end methinks....It was NOT cometic bliss sat night believe you ME as half way thru the day I had a text YOUR DEAD....oopsy MMMMMM all Marc's fault DEFO lol.
Well I was left in charge of the Bring and buy for the weekend along with Bruce I honestly cant tell you how much we made but we didn't half sell some very nice boats and many a bargain was had.

As Martin has allready said the build quality of Admiral Chabanenko (BPK 650) - NATO Udaloy II was out of this world BUt alas the comp rules stated all Models had to be at the show for the 2 days unfortunately the builder had to return home due to family matters, and to be perfectly honest with you all it was THIS Model that had been chosen by the judge, who had NOTHING to do with the Model Boating scene at all and had never built a model. So Obviously the boat that had taken second place had to be promoted to first.

As far as I am concerned and this is truly a PERSONAL take on the show,I have never been to such an informal homely show in my life and I have been around quite a few in the last 10yrs,and was a true pleasure to be not only involved in the setting up of the show etc but to attend, the atmosphere was truly electric in the hall with everyone truly enjoying ourselves.........LONG MAY IT GO ON

If I missed you or snubbed you at the show it was not intentional I was up to something important....well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it

My Personal thanks must go to Marc for putting it on,Lindsey and Kelly for manning the Entrance,Bruce for his help on the Bring and buy.

Stavros

MARTIN got any more pics

I think the Canteen/restaurant staff ought to have a pat on the back as they were inundated with orders which they coped with ,with happy smiling faces and did their utmost to please everyone. :-)) :-))
