radio controll transmitter spares.

Can anyone supply or advise how to obtain a replacement antenna for my Planet T5 2.4 transmitter. I appreciate a new transmitter can be obtained at a moderate cost but it goes against my Yorkshire instincts to scrap something which can be fixed. windyblow Cumbria.

I'm sure if you go on the J Perkins distribution website, they list an antenna in their spares, and though you can't buy from them direct, you can find the local dealer and they should be able to order the part in for you...

thats the correct one for both the planet & twister transmitters , they are fairly simple to change once you have removed the back of the set . im guessing that you have managed to break the aerial where it pivots ? as a makeshift repair a short length of heatshrink tubing put over the joint and shrunk will stop the two halves parting company completely ! one of mine has had this makeshift repair for the best part of a year now since i fell over the cat while coming into our hall way after a sail ! !

Thanks all responders, I now have a replacement off the shelf from Howes. Hope this is is useful to other total novices like myself when tragedy strikes and panic sets in.
Its great to have found such a great backup of knowledge and ready assistance. Ican now carry on into the mystical world of electric propulsion and electronic speed control without too much trepidation, especially since I have now found the Radio Control forum.

                 Thanks again,          Windyblow.  :-)

:-)note that cat was cause of fellow sufferers ariel breakage. It should meet my two terriers. Scenario: changing batteries in transmitter, phone rings ,transmitter on chair and leave room, return to room, tug of war in progress one dog on strap other on ariel, expression of displeasure resulted in transmitter tossed in air like a rat, one dog runs off with transmitter dragged by strap, other retiires under chair with liquoirice stiick ariel. Who says a dog is a mans best friend. Transmitter now repaired, dogs out of solitary confinement and restored to fullrations. Thanks again for assistance.

If you want a quick fix, and have an old wireless router (ADSL or alike) kicking about; The antenna on (or in) those usually has the same connector on, and it's the same frequency band.
may not mechanically be good, but should electrically be OK assuming the same RF connector on the end of the coax cable.
