Hi Morton
you may be able to buy a replacement inner shaft with a standard size thread on to fit 'modern' props. Marks Model Bits are really helpful and make nice shafts for a very reasonable price it would be worth giving them a call because they can make a shaft to a length you specify :

It might be worth finding out what size your existing shaft is. One way if you dont have a micrometer is to use a drill shank, different sized ones till you find the size. If you mean that your boat is 1964 then its most likely to be imperial. It could be better to change the prop shaft complete. As said mmb can help you. John.

Hi Morton, you would be well advised to contact MMB, as Cuppa recommended, he makes very good shafts @ very reasonable prices & gives excellent service as well. It might be a good idea to discuss a new brass prop @ the same time to fit the new shaft if that is what he recommends, you will not go wrong with Mark's. Mick B.
