Greetings from Switzerland
« on: April 08, 2012, 09:44:06 am »

As a collector of model steam engines, I now have a few marine engines and I have been contemplating building a boat.

I joined this forum to try and find out what boat I should be looking at, given my rather limited boat building experience.

I rather fancy a vintage tug.  :-)

Here are some of my marine engines, the latest being a Saito vertical twin.

Welcome to Mayhem. Thank you for posting these films. Its a great pity that for a reason i dont know. that Saito made their Boilers out of Brass instead of Copper. They can corrode. The burner is ok, but gas is now a better option. Have fun. John.

Hello and welcome

I enjoyed your clips and I admit I am recently becoming steam curious.
I also liked your collection on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw0qypJrKv4&feature=relmfu

I hope you will post your tug build; do you have any idea yet which tug you will build?

Regards Dave
