Barty, I used to enjoy sailing every Sunday and go away to other club's shows regularly, now, I barely get time to test sail new models. The worst thing is, there are no model shops in our town anymore, we carry several things other than the Sirmar stuff, but, only one person in our own club has used us for stuff, now how weird is that! A slightly moded post and miffed

Hi Paul,
If you read my original post I did ask if anyone knew if either Andy or steve were on Holiday. After the first few posts this thread took on a life of its own.
Take care,
Don

My final thought!

Before some one posts anything about things like this please think in the future, not getting an email response within two weeks may just mean that someone is on holiday or working away, I have emailed big companies in the past with no response at all and big companies work 24/7 365.

So, give the little guys a break, but, if they are blatently ripping people off, like a couple mentioned on here in other posts, please go on and spread the word to others for your own safety!

Not the good guys who have been around for years who bend over backwards to help you lot.

Time is the main consideration along with people's understanding that small manufacturers make everything to order and only carry limited stock. The way some things are made takes time also.

So, to the "moaners" some of whom are new to the hobby! "Get a grip!

OK, so to summarise, I think we can safely agree that most traders bust a gut in trying to keep the customers happy and work a lot harder than most of us customers would be comfortable with. I'm more than happy to sign up to that. It's just the odd few which maybe sometimes let the side down a bit but this should not detract from the efforts of the majority. As others on this thread have rightly pointed out, where would we be without these people? They provide us with the essential stuff we need to pursue our hobby.

OK Martin you can pull the shutters down now!  ;) ;)

My final, final thought. right! In my unit I have got 5 orders waiting to go out, one is 6 weeks old, collectively they are worth over 1500 quid, in all cases, the customer's credit card was declined, now these orders took about two weeks to make up, two weeks of work in other words between them. Now the customers will not answer my emails!
So how is that for a bit of a reversal?
