I made a bit of a cock up...
« on: May 06, 2012, 02:16:11 pm »

I glued down a 0.8mm ply deck with the intention of planking it... I changed my mind after seeing pictures on the web of the same boat with a painted deck, not a planked one... so I decided to glue another layer of ply over the first one to strengthen the deck then I was going to paint it.... BUT... the second layer of ply has sort of bubbled in places and not glued... so the deck now looks bumpy and uneven and has areas you can push in!  In an attempt to resolve this I cut out the areas that weren't stuck... I can't prise off the whole layer because it stuck really well in some places.... I obviously went about this all wrong, so what would you guys do to put all this mess right?

Get some more ply and cut yourself a new deck, it will never be right if you dont.   :-))

Unfortunately it is the only way.
I know it is sometimes hard to rip out what has been done but it usually is the best route.
