Benefits of the new job...
« on: May 09, 2012, 09:19:40 pm »

Well was in 1 of the plants at my new workplace, and opened a drawer to get some new gloves out, only to find the drawer full of little boats! Luckily the plant manager is my GF's dad, so he let me take 1 of the boats home. They make them as examples of what they can make, to show to potential customers, so they've got the moulds there already to make more, so in theory, I could get another 1 or 2 (possibly). It's of no specific boat, and as it was never meant to float it's a little on the heavy side, but I'll put a motor in it and see how it goes...

Anyway heres a few pics of it, I've not measured it yet, but it's shown on top of a 15inch MacBook to try and give some idea of size...

Must have been a big drawer as that boat doesn't fit into my definition of "tiny"! BY.

OK., it's a laminated molding, though it might have been a polypropylene hull molded in one piece and the hole for the cockpit cut out later like plastic canoes or plastic bottles.
