Was in there a couple of weeks ago - great shop loads of stock. Have also bought from their website - excellent service there too.

Early '80s, I only remember 2 model shops in or very near to Oxford - Howes in Broad Street, and Oxford Model Center in St Clements, (both shops still operating), although there were several 'model departments' in shops like Debenhams etc.

Do you remember where in Oxford the shop was?

The market place will be the covered market and that is 2 streets over from broad street were Howes use to be.

In Oxford there has been many model shops that have come and gone but in the centre there was only 2 Howes, and the Oxford model centre. Boswells on broad street have a good model dept. It use to be in the basment

Headington, windmill road there was a model train shop (modelmasters? ) Long gone
Cowley Kitbunker plastic kits .long gone
Headington greenroad roundabout Motorbooks the sold to another party cant remember the new name but lasted less that a year due to the owners attitude. gone
Bottley on elms prade a model train shop cant remember the name. long gone

Central oxford in the covered market there is Auto models (diecast)

Abingdon has had 3 model shops all now gone
