Hi everyone, I need some help, does anyone know if there is a set of plans, prefferably 1:72, of the Merchant Aircraft carrier, HMS  Rapanna. If not plans then some good general arrangment drawings.  I work at the Royal Navy Historic Flight and one of our Swordfish LS326 was onboard this ship during WWII. I would like to build a R/C model of same.... Any help would be appreciated..........Tony  ??? ??? ???

She was built in Holland in 1935 by Wilton-Feijenoord who were taken over by  Damen Shiprepair in1999.
She was converted by Smith's Yard, North Shields in 1943.

Drawings might be a problem.

hi there Tony

Ive just been on the phone to the Discovery Museum which is
based at Newcastle upon Tyne - they hold records for Smiths
Docks, but, sadly no plans for ships in 1943 ,but do hold plans  from 1988 to when
they closed in the 90s.  There is a website you can visit which
is
www.tyneandweararchives.org.uk

hope this helps

aye
