What's happening about vehicular LPG?

Does anybody out there in Mayhem-land happen to know what the current situation is with LPG?
More particularly, how long is its cheapness supposed to last?

My guess is that it will last until enough people convert to it that oil companies and our wonderful government realise there is more money to extract from us
