Scale Conversion
« on: June 20, 2012, 11:26:48 am »

I am sure I have seen this before, but I can not find it now.

I have a drawing which is 1:75 scale, if I take a dimension from this drawing how do I convert it to 1:32 scale.

Thanks

Nother way is to scan the drawing and rescale or take it to an electronic printer (Staples or somesuch) and let them do it. If the final electronic copy is converted to PDF, it can be reprinted at any scale to suit.

75 divided by 32 = 2.343. Pencil that in the corner of your plan and multiply any dimension by that. If you are getting a printers to scale it up, or using your own printer, scale up by 234% ( 100% being 1:1, no enlargement or reduction ).

Multiply the dimension by 75 then divide by 32.

Or   just multiply the dimension by 2.344.

 Simples!!
