Wilesco D3 steam engine and Midwest Fantail
« on: June 29, 2012, 07:14:54 am »

Could I use one of these in a Midwest Fantail 2.

http://wilesco.de/wilesco/index.php?id=31&L=1

The reason I ask is that my local(ish) hobby store has them on special right now

I did post this in the Steam section but had no reply.... I'm hoping for a reply before the weekend as Im heading into Tampere on Saturday

I had replied in the steam section, but my original one didn't post, so I re-posted.
Basically I don't think they would fit together.

Gerald.

Yes I saw that post.... I did think it would be a tight squeeze, also some further research suggested that the engine is not that powerful.

Back to the drawing board

I did think about the regner sally

Need to be sure before I shell out that kind of cash tho

That one looks like it would do, but for that price I would be tempted to make my own.

I personally do not think it has the power required, it is more of a toy. I feel you can find much better options on which to get what you are looking for. Take your time & do due diligence before you spend a nickle. Hi guys you steam experts out there that know more, help him out, you usually do. Mick B.
