looks good magpie, but you REALLY do need either a roof box or a tranny van
I've built a roof box for my subs. You're right, it does help!

Fleet so far...

Fairmile type D MTB, 1/24th, almost finished, r/c
Thorneycroft MTB, 1/20th or maybe 1/24th, needs some TLC and r/c
12m yacht, 1/12th, needs some TLC and r/c gear needs checking
Argus, wishbone schooner, free sailing/modified Brane steering gear
Zwart Zee tug (Billings kit), rather sad now (never been floated), never fitted with r/c

Also...

Tamiya Pershing tank, 1/16th, r/c
Tamiya Baja King 'back yard racer', 1/10th
Tamiya King Hauler truck and trailer, 1/14th, r/c

The Thorneycroft MTB is on the slip now: rub down, re-paint, ESC, batteries, rx and away we go for sea trials

I missed this thread through being on holiday until I saw todays postings - so here's my fleet.

Scale sailing model of a Westerly Pentland ketch (48 inches overall) - scratch built as a reminder of the full size I owned a few years back.( Featured as "Picture of the Month" on Mayhem)

Mersey class lifeboat on a Metcalf hull  (38 inches) - built as the Pwllheli lifeboat as thats housed next to where I moored my Pentland.

Type 23 frigate on the  Fleetscale hull  (55 inches) - built as HMS Portland  as my grandson is a crew member on that ship

Graupner Pegasus - built from a second hand kit for another grandson - it still lives with me for when he visits - but I have to keep it in sailing trim now and again.   ;)

Airboat - scratch built "Everglades"  type of airboat - built as an experiment to see if it would work - it does - very well  !

Griffon Hovercraft (43 inch long)- to try something different.

Marblehead sailing yacht - I was loaned the moulds for a Marblehead so moulded three hulls for self and two friends - kept one - super sailing boat.

RNLI Hovercraft - scratch built using the experience gained on the Griffon.

"Northsider"  tug. (49 inches)   -   Built from a semi kit from Tyne models - .
Bought as an early  birthday present from my wife at the Northwich show, it was finished  enough to launch on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. My club friends demanded a a bottle of champagne for the lakeside launching lunch. I had a bottle which had been in the cupboard for 18 years (didnt like it when bought) and amazingly it was still very drinkable - best launching ceremony yet - shame you missed it Stavros  :D

My favorites are WII warships, but they have to be 1/72 airfix etc kits, which is why i have
1) Matchbox flower class corvette
2) Airfix German 'S' Boat

Both remote controlled though being a part time hobbiest, they just go refit most of the time or get stored.

Have kits for the slipway but no time to start / complete

Revel PT109
Airfix vosper (well two actually)

other models for fitting to the dream boat to build, Hermes, are three harrier jump jets with marker lights (alternating flashing led's), and two sea kings a MK2 and a MK4 commando both with flashing marker lights and rotating main rotors (tail is very difficult to acheive with the space in a 1/72 scale chopper).

At the moment, the fleet comprises:

Ripmax Carlson
Ripmax Interceptor 650   (These 2 are for the kids, although  do spend a lot of time sailing them!)

I have a scratch-built River Class minesweeper at 1:48th

Building:
Vickers Vedette from (1976 freebie plan)
1:72 scale Tarawa class assault ship. (scratch-built and scaled up from Revell plastic kit)

Loads more in the pipeline, but trying to get around to starting them.

Recently converted mine to RC, very nice little boat - still got the mag somewhere. The plan is a bit brittle now but still usable with care. Good old Vic Smeed strikes again :)

Was given a fiberglass hull which sort-of fitted the plan.
I'm slightly modifying the design to look a little more modern and using the sketches in the magazine article, i've added a helicopter and changed the weapons.

Initial bath tests are good (hasn't sunk yet!), hopefully on the water trials will be as good.

Also inherited an AsTec Falcon fast electric.  something to do during the winter months.

Feller in Leicester, I won it on ebay.
Totally scratch built, will need some work and scale running gear, but will be started after she sails in mast pond at Portsmouth Dockyard to celebrate the refurbishment of No3 Boathouse.
They are about, this is my sixth.
