not too good at maths me... 5/16" to 1ft scale?
« on: August 05, 2012, 03:21:31 pm »

Hi not very good at working in imperial.

what does 5/16" to 1ft work out at?

I'm interested in this plan, as i used to own a boat of this class, but don't really understand how big it will work out at being.

Thanks for your help.

hi ya there

try to think of it this way - a boat in lifesize is 45 ft long so therefore if 1 inch were to equal 1 foot the model would be 45 inches long but since 5/16 = 1 foot - it will be 45 x 5/16

or,

approx 14 inches long at that scale :-)

You could double or even treble the size to either 28" or 42", its easy enough to have the drawing re sized at a decent copy shop :-)) :-)) :-))
