With the matt white applied to the handrails by brush (about 4 coats) then dusted over with clear lacquer to seal and give a uniform finish, it was time for some weathering. The colouring will look better in natural light and it still need some dabs of darker rust in places.


Next up, having looked at some pictures of a power block I realised that as provided the kit is two square, the real thing creates a rubber V for the net to be run through. Here it is as built from the kit

While replacing a toilet ball valve washer for work I realised the washer was the solution,

With a little trimming round the outside and the centre cut out it made a nice rubber chamfer like this.

It should look okay by the time there is some net on it.
