AN END TO A GREAT FIRST YEAR.
« on: October 08, 2012, 03:27:04 pm »

WALLASEY MODEL BOAT SOCIETY MEMBERS CELEBRATE

THEIR FIRST YEAR IN THE MODEL BOAT WORLD.

Wallasey Model Boat Society which was founded in October 2011 has now completed their first year in the world of model boats. We can now confirm that our first year has gone far better than we had expected, Our first year has seen us raise just over £300.oo for the Liverpool chest and heart hospital and then we went on to raise just under £1500.00 for our local lifeboat here in New Brighton, this success is due to the members we have on board who turn out week after week and are always willing to help each other. Although this year got off to a slow start we can add that on a Sunday the public now turn up in the hundreds to look at the vast amount of boats that we sail and also the number of kids that also turn up with their parents and their own boats and a big smile as they are encouraged to join in and take part in any events that we are holding, the likes of….steering around a course we have laid out or navigating their way around when we have a barge towing event. We would also like to add the new friends we have met from the likes of Runcorn, Widnes, Ellesmere Port, Southport, Fleetwood, Shropshire, and North Wales who come and show their support in any events that we hold. We held our final meeting for this year and can confirm that we have a full calendar for 2013, this shall be added to our web site very soon, so all that can be added is to pass on our thanks and gratitude to everyone for all the help and support we have received and a big thank you to all our sponsors and we look forward to meeting you all again next year. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Regards Dave.

Dave, congratulations to you all up there on Merseyside from a club member down here in Portsmouth.

You appear to have started your venture "on the right tack" and continued your "voyage" to success, "steered" by worthy "helmsmen".

That's what it takes to make a successful club.

Continue your enthusiasm, for it is that very ingredient that will carry you forward into your second successful year.

Well done.

Sorry I wasn't able to make it to the RNLI fund raising event Dave as I was at the Birkenhead Festival of Transport.
But well done for your club's first anniversary.
