Possibly layflat hosing which is sold in various sizes would do? This could be foam filled? John.

The 'inflatable ring' you refer to is in fact a skirt that is inflated when the craft starts
to hover - it is pumped up either by the thrust fan as in the Skima four in your video or
by a separate lift fan. (look at 4:28 in the video you can see the skirt deflated, and at 5:07-5:09
you can see it inflate as the skima starts to hover....)

I'm currently building a hovercraft model

- have a look at the pix at ....

https://picasaweb.google.com/104738298347389224405/HovercraftProject

The skirt inflation and lift function will be carried out by a brushless motor and 6" x 5" propeller

Before you ask, I blew up the 65mm ducted fan unit  :embarrassed:

At the moment I am cutting out the skirt panels from black polyester lining material, the
joints will be made using copydex latex glue - I have some sample joints I made to test the
system. The skirt will be made airproof using copydex diluted 50:50 with water.

Let me know if you wish to know more.

is is an inflatebae tube that not inflated by the fan trust me i have infalted some of the craft before the idea is the the inflateabe section keeps the craft foating when on the water if you watch the video you will see them put the craft together and pumping the hull up with air.there is then a skirt attched to this

your griffon looks good this is mine

Tim,  I am guessing from your reply you are referring to an internal
tube which is actually part of the hull - something like the side tubes in a rib?
in which case john44's idea of a bike inner tube is a good one provided it isn't too heavy

You could also make a 'solid' tube out of gray plumbing pipe insulation
(sealed if it's not a closed cell foam)

Never mind my Griffon looking good! - if it turns out as good looking as yours I'll be well happy!

what did you use for your skirt material ? (this is probably the first of many questions mate!)
