brushless motors Tamar Lifeboat
« on: October 10, 2012, 03:17:31 pm »

Having been reccomended to use brushless motors in my 1/12th scale Tamar Lifeboat, I did a search on the internet for what I wanted .I came up with the firm Puffin Models, of Bristol. How glad I am that I found them. Extremely helpful and obliging,I ordered online.my motors arrived very quickly. These were Pelikan Foxy C3020/12. Obviously they have not yet been fitted,so are untried.
Like an idiot I had forgotten to order mounting brackets at the same time, and I rang them and again they told me what I would need and they would be posted out that day.I would suggest you look at their online catalogue,I am sure you will be very surprised at the stock they keep.
Cheers,
Mick F

Just going to post that Neil!
Although Puffin Models do indeed supply the speed controllers, I was again advised to use the following from Hobby King. Although this company now has a UK website, I believe I am right in thinking that the orders are still sent from "abroad"
Items I ordered were.....

And program card  http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=24570

Some Hobbyking items are now available from their UK warehouse - motors, ESCs and batteries seem to be in stock.
