Faily New Stuart Puffin issue

Hello, Ok have just ran my new Sturt puffin takes about 20 psi to start ran in the pond 30 min second steamup after about 2 min she got stuck in middle of pond waited for steam to build back up to 20 psi brought her in  disconnected motor  motor seems a bit tight stuffing box free anyone have a clue any help would be great thank you.

Hi There, have you run the engine on the bench for an hour or so to run it in? This process beds all the running surfaces down ans establishes all the running clearances  of the bearings and generally loosens everything up.If the engine is still a little tight you will need to use more steam to run it. once the engine has been run in, you will find you will need less throttle and you will get longer running times. Dont forget to use plenty of light machine oil on the bearings when bedding the engine in. Hope this is of some help.
