You can immediately put on the agenda in 2014! it is always the week of Ascension
next year it'll be 25 MAI 2014 to May 31 precisely because the tourist season starts on June 1

I'm currently sitting looking out over the lake at the Gazouland meet at Lac des Varennes...

I arrived yesterday during the legendary French lunch break and couldn't get on to the campsite for the best part of 2 hours so I walked in and found Gazou... to cut a short story even shorter, I was parked up on site within 15mins.

The welcome from Gazou and his forum members, some of whom, thankfully, spoke very good English, was second to none.  Merci Gazou et al
As someone new to model boats I found the good spread of boat types, the quality of modelling and superb attention to detail were nothing short of inspirational.

Having sailed on the PAMBC lake (Peterborough) a few times it was great to try out the boat on a much larger expanse of water... and I found the range of my TxRx  ... it's much smaller than the lake here!!!
Thanks to the Gazouland rescue team my boat was safely returned... Merci beaucoup to the canoe crew!!

Remarkable value on the campsite: 13,14€ (approx £11.15)per night for one person in a motorhome, electricity and tourist tax, or 14,88€ (approx £12.60) for two people using the ACSI scheme ... compare those to Wicksteed prices!!!!

Our friends CASTA is with us, it is a pleasure,
Pity that English does not have the same time as the French!
He sleeps when we play, we play when he eats, when he plays we drink. When we invite to dinner it's time for him to go to bed!
We'll have to organize ourselves to do things together and let him know the French hospitality. Fortunately he sailed afternoon

I am very busy now but I'll put a lot of pictures next week to make you want to come next year.

we have lots of fun :-)) :-)) :-))

Super, I hope M. Camaron is related to the lady, if not he should do the decent thing ;) %) .  Love the Missispringer with jazz band.  A "flambe" steamer ! Submarines, and a Horseshoe crab, oysters with pearls, a heavy-lift carrier, big white "Calypso" style ship, French naval ship, that elegant sailing yacht etc etc too many wonderful models to pick out as special...they are all very special.  Wonder what the inspiration for the shot-up hillbilly boat with the crooked funnel ?  What a wonderful event, well done to all involved.    BTW my surname is Cameron, perhaps I have a French connection... from the "auld alliance" era perhaps ?   Maybe need to do some investigation ...on site as it were :}
