You have a PM, I go by the handle of Arrow5 on Mayhem and RCGroups.com    Edit:  the model is in it`s usual winter berth ( sheep shed ) for the summer as I had heart attack a month ago. Dont think it will be going anywhere soon.

Duncan, God bless you sir.  I have followed your HMS Invincible from away over here in Idaho, USA.  Did the long term loan to the Museum go through?  Hope your health is well.

Fair seas and a following wind.

I build 1/350 scale models...no R/C.  but enjoy putting together entire modern Carrier Strike groups.  I have the 1/350 Lusty by Airfix and will build her with a couple of Darings and a couple of Dukes as well as a Trafalgar and an Astute.  Will look forward to when a 1/350 Queen Elizabeth comes out.

I bow to the prowess and capabilities gentlemen like yourself accomplish in the model building and sailing world.  She's not sea waorth (more's the pitu) but here is a link to a 1/72 scale USS Enterprise here in the states a guy has been working on for 20 years.  Its shown here at Carrierbuilder.net.  Perhaps you could get your Invincible up on that site.

Thank you Jeff for your kind thoughts.    No the Museum underwent a major change in policy and management and there was no place for the Invincible in their thinking.  She is still berthed in  sheep-shed at least it is out of the rain, smells a bit though.  Yes I know about about the Enterprise on  Carrierbuilder.net, a wonderful tour de force.  I`m not sure but I think I had my model on that site, maybe it was a similar German one.  I`m sure Airfix will be doing an "Elizabeth", work on the real one is going on steadily here in Scottish shipyards.  Still a mystery about the aircraft to be used.  My latest (slow) build is a X4 Springer which will be easier to launch and transport I hope.

You are very welcome, Duncan, and the praise is all well deserved.

Sorry to hear that the Museum would not take in your vessel...foolish of them IMHO, but that's life.  They have to do what they have to do.

I suspect after all is said and done, and all the wrangling and mistakes of the MPs...that the time will come when the UK will be very glad they have those new carriers, and they will be needed for and used for what they were designed for...the defense of the UK and esnuring that the UKs interests are well protected and the sea lanes remain open.

If they get at least the 48 F-35Bs (and so sad to see they took the shortsighted route and did not go for the F-35Cs and the resulting opportunity to cross deck with the US big carriers for the F-35s, the F-18s, the E-2Ds, etc.), they will have a storng air arm nonetheless, and perhaps they will do some cross decking with the America Class LHA.

Anyhow, thank you so much for your reply.  One day, should me and the wife ever get over to Scotland (her forfathers are all Scots...Wooodmansee), we'll have to look you up.  The mat's out here in Idaho if you are ever over this way.

God's speed.
