Hello folks

I have recently bought the above plastic kit complete with crew and 1/4 ton utility truck (jeep) after seeing another similar one converted in this manner, in Model Boats magazine from 2007 it is an Italeri 1;35 scale Landing craft mechanised I could not get this one so bought the one LCVP MODEL VERY SIMILAR I think. The builder of the one featured in the article "Kieth A Bragg"has managed to drill out drill through the bow ramp hinges somehow, and looking at the photos in the article the hinges appear different to the one on mine, I dont think I could manage the same process without destroying the hinges on my model, has any fellow member built this or a similar model if so I would be grateful for any advice on hingng the bow ramp and operating it via a mini servo and a standard push rod suitably disguised in a plastic tube as an oil pipe or similar. Kieth hinged his ramp using a piece of 1mm carbon rod as a hinge pin after drilling the hinges out.
Any advice or help would be appreciated, I dont know if you are a member of this site Kieth but if so it would be great to hear from you first hand, or anyone who may suggest another method of achieving this.
PS, Kieth operated his bow door through a system of tubes and some kind of winch with the draw ropes simulated with terylene kite line. I think the push rod method might be simpler given my lack of skill/knowledge in this department!!

Thanks all the best,John.
