Model Slipway Tamar 1/16
« on: January 16, 2013, 11:52:36 pm »

Thought I would catalog my build of my Tamar, probably more pictures (now I have sussed out how to get them on here) than words!

ok, so far all running gear, electrics table and speaker have been fitted.

Some filling and sanding has taken place on the outer of the hull but a lot more to be done.

Deck strips fitted. Next is to fit the deck (epoxy or body filler yet to be decided, deck to hull filled and smoothed and then start on deck fittings.

I do like your rudder controls. Very sharp.   :-))

Will that cause a problem on full right rudder - the linkages moving towards linear?

Would it be worth spinning the servo around so that the axis of the servo and the rudder posts are virtually in a line, so that you can get more of a parallelogram on the linkages?

Potentially this was a problem but I have used ball linkages so they have free movement. I am considering extending the servo arm which would give it more free play but it is not essential as the turn now is good.

It is out of line.  My suggestion would be to reposition the servo arm  180 degrees which would make the thrust parallel and at right angles to the tiller arm.

Unfortunately this would reverse the action, so you would have to link it to the other tiller arm instead.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the assistance but it works perfectly as it is, no need to make any changes.  :-))

 ;)
after reversing the servo simply reverse the direction of rotation of the servo in the transmitter and everything will be fine, better than the system even if it seems logical not satisfactory
