Craig Talbot - "ACTion Man"

A brief note to say that Craig Talbot passed away peacefully in hospital at 3 am today. His partner Christine was with him. Our thoughts  are with her and his children, Jackie and Robert, at this very sad time.
I have lost a very good friend and mentor, but Liz and I are proud to be able to carry on the little business which he built up over the last 13 years.

My sympathies to Craig's family, he will be missed. He was always helpful and knowledgeable, and had the interests of Model Boaters at heart.

A sad day for he's Family and for the Modeling world . a Man who had time for you will be missed
at the shows .

The model boat fraternity has lost one of the pioneers in electronics for use in marine modeling. I am sure that many modelers out there have used or built at some time a product from Craig. On behalf of Kirklees Model Boat Club I would like to send our condolences to Craig's partner and children.

Yes if we may add our condolences to this post its made a sad day by this news and I am sure will be a shock to most. Our sympathies are with those close to him not least Christine, Robert and Jackie but may they at some point when they can look forward take heart that he lives on in many a model boat and modellers eyes far and wide. He will be sadly missed

We have lost a light - it may be dim now - but we have not lost his glowing light of spirit which he showed us all.

Deepest sympathy to all of Craig's family.   He will be sadly missed.

A Footnote

We attended Craig's funeral in Bedford today. It was a Humanist affair, which would have pleased him, and the music was actually chosen by ACTion Man himself. We went into the chapel accompanied by Mike and the Mechanics' "Living Years" but we had to suffer John Denver's mawkish "Annie's Song" halfway through. Mind you, having found his CD collection while helping Rob and Chris clear out his workshop, it could have been a whole lot worse.
 
There were several eulogies from his family, all alluding to a "very dry" sense of humour but going no further. Typically he'd left the big joke until the last possible moment, so as we filed past the coffin the sound system struck up with The Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive".........
I bet he's having a laugh about that one somewhere.

Chris, Rob and Jackie would like us to thank you for all your kind wishes and comments.

So let's get on with it, eh?
