I had to contact him, using the web site contact form,  before Christmas as a prop I ordered never arrived. I got a fairly prompt (after his holiday) reply and a refund. Since then I have ordered via the web site and got delivery in about 3 weeks same as Adam.

I did send some emails over the last two months to check some details on other running gear cominbations and sizes but never got any replies other than an initial reply saying 'George is away'. I then just decided to order without the question being answered and and had a very prompt communication saying 10-12 day turnaround.

I have had no replies to the various e-mails I have sent to George which is why I thought a telephone call might work but can't find a number for him anywhere. I am in no 'desperate' need of a replacement prop but obviously I can't use the boat without it. Anyone got his phone number?

why bother when his service at replying is so poor...there were plenty of raboesch props on ebay last night of varying sizes......all cheep and a dozen or more of them unter r/c boats and hovercraft in toys and hobbies.

I certainly wouldn't chase someone who can't be bothered to reply to my emails.

that's why I like dealing with Propshop..might be a little more but you get a reply and get the goods too.

Neil, George has until recently provided excellent service and quality to many ship modellers but
I do know he was intending to slow down and semi-retire as he now qualifies for a bus pass
That is why I got my last order in to him about September last year knowing this was on the cards
and the gear I received was up to his usual standard.
His comment was that he would continue to make some running gear for his regular customers but had almost
finished with his website and had cancelled his creditcard facility as the bank was ripping him of charges wise.
Payment will now be through paypal or postal order.
He was (at least until a couple of months back) contactable via his landline for those who have it.

Prop Shop absolutely gets my vote.
Ever so helpful, no problem with questions by email or phone, great product.
100% happy  {-)

I agree with the comments about Prop Shop, they made me some special stainless steel tubes with ball races which were/are excellent. The other advantage was at the time we lived only 20 minutes away by car from Banbury so I could call in and collect and discuss things. The biggest problem is their prices which always seem to me to be a lot more than other suppliers. Yes, I know you can't put a price on service and they do have a vast selection of types and sizes. For instance: Raboesch - £10.25. PS - £14.90 for the same size prop and if I can't get a replacement 1 from George Sitek I would need to order 4 so they all match. (£18.60 difference). I'm not a 'cheapskate' but I don't want to throw money away.

Finally got a reply from George by e-mail. Unfortunately, as I hadn't had a reply sooner, I have ordered a complete set of props from Model Boat Bits. Price is more than George was going to charge but less than Prop Shop. They are Raboesch props so should be good quality. I have an electronic copy of the Raboesch catalogue. If anyone is interested I can e-mail them a copy.
