LBES Display at Brighton Modelworld 2013
« on: March 03, 2013, 03:42:22 pm »

 Hi everyone,
I had the privilidge of attending the Brighton World Model Show last week, and had a good time.
There certainly were some excellent exhibits of all types, including boats.I thought I would post a few photos of the LBES Display at the show, which was well supported. Thanks Phil and Kim, for inviting me to be part of the team.
Mick F
The last photo is of me on the pool with my unique model of a McLachlan Class Lifeboat especially made for me,and in full working order.

Very nice, but too much orange. I was hoping to be there, but couldn't due to previous arrangements. I might make it next year though.

Whose is the Oakley, may I ask? The Mclachlen looks good but it really needs a coxswain at the helm.

The Oakley, and all the models on that table are mine.If by whose you mean which Station, all my boats are Cornish boats and this one is the Frank Penfold Marshall,as she arrived at St.Ives, with no radar and no canopy. She was the first to receive the radar. The McLachlan was only received the day before I travelled to the show some 300 miles, and I had nothing suitable to put on her.
This is soon to be rectified.
Cheers,

In defence of Andrew, he does help a lot with information & is generally very helpfull. But you must remember Andrew that most do their very best & a bit of praise goes a long way. I get the distinct impression that he is a perfectionist when it comes to Lifeboats. The boats on display are beautiful & I know Rottweiler uses his boats to collect money for the RNLI & does a great job too all at his own expense. What Neil doesn't know about lifeboats is really not worth knowing. Just check his builds on this site. Here we have three very good forum members, if not tha best. Mick B,

I was there at Brighton on the Friday and loved the various lifeboats on display and on the water. So much so that I may very well be spending my hard earned savings on building a large scale Severn quite soon, Thanks for that!  :-))

Andrew with ref to the oakley  scale hobbies at skelmesdale is the only one i know who has a mould for the oakley,as model by design  "oakley hull" is for the rother. The gentleman also does some fittings as well.I also believe that he very rearly does a oakley hull(most probably because it`s not advertised !!.Nice boats mick.f

Andrew  when you asked whose is the oakley,I didnt realise quite what you meant hence my answer that its mine!A friend of mine made a mould and turned it out for me.The moulding was first class, but literally he only turns out the occasional one for close friends.
Baloo,thanks for the Positive comment!
