They were built (as you're probably aware), by Maersks own shipyard at Odense, although believe has now changed hands, so perhaps Maersk 'might' assist, but having worked for them, I wouldn't hold my breath, but always worth a first try.

Hi!

What exactly are you after, as you say "...or similar"?

Hmm, a colleague went through a lot of trouble and reconstructed the Lines of the EMMA in DELFTSHIP and did a darn good job!
I dout that you would get them from the yard or Maersk. They are maybe not 100% correct, but look spot on!

For the members of the respective Forum they are available for download. I would assume that if you ask, you could get them.

GA Plans in industry publications are available. Depending on the scale you have in mind, these might do.

Do you know these web sites?:

http://www.robse.dk/pages/Emma/EmmaMaersk.asp

The colleague from The Netherlands is building the ship in 65th Scale! THAT IS MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check it out (pictures tell the story!)

Now, if ANY other Container Ship might do, there are proper plans available...

So, what is it you have on mind?

Cheers!

Hi PW569, the lines for the hull are exactly what I'm after :-)) would you have a link to where they can be downloaded from?

About 2.4 metres long would be nice, haven't worked out the scale yet.

Hi Lars,

I've been looking for this sort of info, but my Google-Fu is letting me down. Any specific websites for small feeders in the 600-800 TEU range?

Dear Andy,

depending on what you have in mind, i.e. built your own hull or be happy with a GA Plan + GRP Hull, there are some options.

A) Register on the Delft Software site mentioned above. If you get the Software for free and register, you may download for free MANY Hull Lines provided by members. This includes typical, although generic, lines for various types, including a feeder like the one you are looking for.

B) Name a specific ship, and I will see what might be available

C) try the following sites. They offer either a combination of GRP Hull + GA Plan (Schmidt) or just Hulls, although of slightly bigger ships, INCLUDING THE EMMA MAERSK IN 1/200 (Steinhagen). The latter also has plans, but not for the EMMA.

Steinhagen:
Go on "Produkte", scroll down for Hulls. First, (I.G. Lloyd Modellbauplane) is for the drawings.

BTW, I do not know the guy and have never dealt with him!

Gunther Schmidt:
http://www.g-schmidt.com/schiffsmodellrumpfe/schiffsmodellbau-containerschiffe.html

He has this one for EUR 175,00 (inkl. GA Plan), the WODAN

Great advice.  :-)) There's a pair of 600 TEUs there, which are adaptable, plus "enough" photos online to make something generic and yet realistic.

Dear Andy,

I am glad I could be of assitance!

Do you have a name for the ship?

Maybe...BANNOCKBURN? Of ALBA NAVIGATION Ltd.? With a Saltire as funnel mark, homeport Leith and this unique Red Ensign:

Dear John,

you may be right. The first one was just in the center point of an inflamed discussion on ship modelling boards in Germany.

Like him or not (I dont know him, as I previously stated!) He is in business and sells stuff...and obviously has the EMMA.
On his site it clearly states GFK (=GRP).

Not sure of what "vintage" your experiance regarding the second one is, however, the old man retired a couple of years ago and the buisiness got taken over but operates under the same name. Again, I do not have any personal experiance with the new Owner, Jorg Brennecke, but he is known in the community and has expanded the business to quite an extent and builds display models for shipyards and shipping companies. Could well be that that is his prime field of buisiness and the retailing is "on the side". It seems he now has a proper web shop now (new)...

Indeed, his hulls are mostly made of Polysteyrene by means of thermoforming, a material and methof which is wide spread in the modelers world.

I am sorry to hear that you have had bad experiance with both of them...

Cheers,
Lars

Hi Lars

Intresting to hear what you have said about the first retailer. All I can say my friend wants his superfast hull And does not replay to emails. His products do look good if only you could get hold of them.
The second retailer
I did email when the first owner owned it befor there website was taken down several times never got an answer. 6 months lather Jorg Brennecke did email out of the blue about my inquire about a hull. The hull was to much money for what it was so that is why I did not buy it.
