Jim

I would imagine if you are short of space that you will have to go with 7.4 volts. There is quite a size difference between them and 11.1 volts. Don't forget also that you need a dedicated charger and as you are using a brushed ESC you need a low voltage warning device or cut-off to prevent you damaging your batteries. As for capacity, that again depends on space available. I have an 11.1 volt 2200 mAhr you can use to test the available space - let me know and I'll drop it up to you.

Look at LiFePo instead, still require the correct charger but the chemistry is safer. The voltage choice is then 6.6, 9.9 or 13.2V.

Jim you need to know what voltage the motors and esc can take, google it. More volts, better performance, more mah longer run time, will you be using one lipo per esc?
