Aerokits Sea Commander
« on: May 12, 2013, 06:57:11 am »

Hello All
I am thinking of buying the Aero kits Sea Commander as my first r/c build and would like advice and comments from forum members.
The reason I have chosen this particular model is that it comes complete with fitting kit ie. prop shaft motor etc.
I think this would be ideal for someone like me who has little experience of model boat building.
Also does anyone know of a model boat club that is fairly close to Harrow Middlesex.

:-)) The sea commander is a very good kit well made and high quality, but maybe a bit hard for the beginner, the main problem is the skinning of the hull can be a bit tricky if you have not done it before,if you don't get it right it may distort the hull and the boat won't plane, why not try
one of the vintage model boat company's small kits, learn your skills with that and build the sea commander later, after all if you don't get it
right you have invested £60 instead of £150,but do think you will get it right if you take your time and enjoy your modelling, hope I have been of some help,Ray.

Looking at your workmanship on the Mantua, I don't think the Sea Commander would be much of a problem to you.
She looks beautiful.
I just love wooden boats  :-)) :-)) :-))
