A quick google for  "457 re 385 como drills" came up with this page - http://www.mfacomodrills.com/pdfs/Miniature%20DC%20motors.pdf
This says that they are 12 volt motors.  Might be a good idea to look for other threads on Fletcher / Blue Devil - someone else is sure to have figured out what weight of battery can be carried.  It will probably need the full 12 volts for the required performance - doing it with NiMH might be better than SLA because it is possible to buy 2 5 cell packs which is easier to put where it is wanted.

The model has the original models course props.
If you run on 12 volts it will be far to fast.
She was never trialed so I would suggest you start at 6 or 7.2 volts and see how she performs.
I should point out that I know so much about her as I fitted her out.
