Hi Guys .... posted on another thread ...

From Mick earlier today

The city of Calgary is suffering the worst flood in living memory with 75,000 people evacuated up to now. Also a lot of local towns & villages have been just about washed away

It didn't sound like Mick was having any personal difficulties but Mick isn't our only Calgary member so fingers crossed for them all.

Hi guys & gals, It is mostly down on the two rivers that flow through the city centre. We are a city of 1.3 million people & 75,000 had to be evacuated. It came like a flash flood with little warning. Phyllis & I live about 3 miles from the river & are about 300 ft. above the flood plain. Most of the city is normal but the rivers are running 4 times larger than any previous flood level. We have had no loss of life in Calgary but High River a town down stream lost 3 people. There are more towns down stream where the river has not crested yet so we are not sure how bad it is going to get. The concern of our members has touched both Phyllis & I deeply & we are very grateful for your concerns & good wishes. Because of road closures we are house bound but safe, thank you all again, we will keep you informed. Mick B. PS.= June is our wettest month & we got a months rain in 36 hours, melting snow pack in the mountains 100 miles west of the city added to the mess.

Have you considered building an Ark Mick?
I am sure Martin can zip you a set of plans over.

Can you please video the build and using your broken wrist ...
Not much comedy on the telly here.  %)

Mick says he is fine and lives above the flood plain. He is so fine that I think he is just off to the model shop as I post. Well he said something about picking up a nice model this afternoon :embarrassed:

Just an update but the estimate is in $5Billion range for the city & up to 10 years to fix the damage. We had over 2000 people volunteer today to start the cleanup. Most people think the true cost will be much higher. Mick B.

"Come Hell or High Water" the Stampede is a go. :-) So is our boat race at Elliston this weekend the water has dropped in the lake so we should be good.
