Plans for French vessels
« on: July 17, 2013, 08:12:37 am »

Some years ago I had a little catalogue containing lists of plans available from a French source. These were mainly French vessels but some others were in there too. I lost the little book. Anyone have a contact for the company (or web site).

Sorry to be so vague. My French is awful but I think it may be the Modele reduit bateau catalogue. I'm trying to locate plans for the small French Torpedo Cruiser Condor from the 1880's and some one said they thought there were model makers plans in this catalogue. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi steve.
can you tell me why we are all  bursting our balls to find data for you on a warship when you are already sitting with the blurb on it from the museum in france.
RE:  The  ship model forum Thu Nov 29, 2012
I have contacted the Museum in Paris who very helpfully posted me a lot of paperwork, containing, what appears to be a list of plans and documents held for the vessels I am studying (and hoping to model) plus a guide to the Museum archive. I am currently studying all this to see what plans are available. Not easy when my "school boy French" was failed 40 years ago.
If I am successful with obtaining copies of the plans, I might feel confident enough to do it as a (protracted) on line build.
We shall see.

steve

I do appreciate all those who might be  "busting a gut" finding information for me.
I have the lists from the Paris museum but it is far from clear which plans are appropriate and which are complete. I was working on a tip that someone gave me saying there were model makers plans for Condor. I thought if I could locate a copy then I could use them as a basis, re drawing them to my scale and adding extra detail from the research I already have.
Hope this explains my enquiry.

Hi Steve.
RE: Hope this explains my enquiry.  Explanation accepted mate, though if you had mentioned what data you already and its source I would have saved duplication in the search pattern and submitted data.
