I am thinking of building Pathfinder off a Vic Smeed plan.As. I intend to use the plank on frame method. Can anyone tell me if the plans give the hull profiles for such a plan?I e-mailed the plan supplier ,they tell me they do not ;know?? Thanks Sunliner.

I can't remember exactly what the plan looked like but to the best of my recollection construction was bread and butter for the lower hull, bow and stern and plywood for the upper midships hull which features an inset promenade deck section on each side. If you build plank on frame, you will still probably need to treat the midship section in the same way.
There was a comprehensive build article in the July 2007 issue of Model Boats by Tom Gorman which is still advertised as a back issue.

Tom built his model plank on frame and refers to enlarging the body plan sections from the plan so you should have no problems. Well worth getting Tom's article though.

Make sure you order MM393 for the Smeed plan, It's on two sheets, the second one showing all the bread and butter laminations full size.
